The roles of the media in Nigeria’s national development lie in their capacity and capability to teach, manipulate, sensitize and mobilize people through information dissemination. Journalists chart a course for the public in line with the agenda setting theory, thereby creating in the minds of the people, issues that should be viewed  as priority issues including development programmes and policies. For this reason, we believe the life and welfare of every journalist in Nigeria are of great importance and must be treated as such. Our work is to:

  • Push for a better salary structure for all journalists
  • Life insurance for every reporter
  • Medical Allowance for all staff of media houses
  • Minimum of two local training yearly
  • Medical bill cover for every reporter involved in an accident while on the field
  • Better work resources to support the job (computers, printers, internet)
